Main Presentation:
Cross Platform C# Mobile Apps with Xamarin.Forms
Brandon Cornett (Envoc Mobile Development)
In this talk, we’ll start from scratch and create a simple, three platform (iOS, Android, and Windows Phone) mobile app with an ASP.NET Web API back-end to house all of our data. We’ll develop our app using the Xamarin.Forms platform. We’ll also discuss why Xamarin is a great choice for app development, and a few different approaches that you can take to developing an app on the platform.
Brandon brings his years of experience and passion for software and technology to every project he works on. Lately, he’s made strides to become Envoc’s Mobile Development guru, but at the same time remains a valuable asset on both web development and API development projects. As a mentor to the Envoc associates in the Hammond Office, Brandon parlays his teaching and consulting skills to his work with clients. Working with clients to pinpoint their pain points while formulating viable solutions for those pains is one of the most rewarding facets of his job. Brandon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Information Systems and a minor in Mathematics from Southeastern Louisiana University. Brandon plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University to gain his Masters in Business Administration.
Lightning Round Presentation:
JS Considerations for the .NET Developer
Matthew Borel (Envoc Web and Mobile Development)
From SPA’s to sites requiring a minimal front-end, we’ll explore a few different approaches for setting up, bundling, and writing JavaScript in a way that fits the demands of your specific project. The session will be delivered through examples using Visual Studio, MVC, and AngularJS, but the overall analysis of pros/cons in front-end heavy sites and project organization can be applied in ways that are framework agnostic.
Matt works at Envoc doing web and mobile development. He has interest in learning a diverse range of programming tools rather than specializing in one particular set.
