Bluefin Data. We are a technology start-up that aims to make substantial improvements to each project, company or industry that we serve. Our primary focus is to build a company centered around people that passionately believe in what they do. We believe that this perspective will transfer directly from our team to our customers. The happier our team can make our customers, the more likely they are to continue doing business with us; satisfied customers lead to recommendations, which will allow us continued growth.
Our primary function is to create software to help manage the seafood industry. Seafood dealers who purchase commercially caught seafood use our systems to report their purchases to the government. In turn, the government uses this information to manage and regulate catch restrictions.

The Internet of Things
Andrew Petersen (Bluefin Data)
It is predicted that 4.9 billion things will be connected to the Internet in 2015 and is expected to increase to 25 billion by 2020. With this growing number of devices connected to the Internet, we will no longer be in a world of stand alone mobile apps and websites. We need to start thinking about the Internet of Things.
In this talk, we will cover some of the statics of the Internet of Things along with some current projects I am currently working on that involve the integration of hardware and software.
Andrew Petersen is kingpin and lead developer of Bluefin Data, a technology startup located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Andrew has been happily married for 5 years, enjoys spending time with family and friends, and dreams of traveling the world. He stumbled upon his love of technology and entrepreneurship while making a living playing online poker after college. He began working with his father, Claude Petersen, the founder of Bluefin Data in 2010. Now fully immersed in the success of business, Andrew hopes for continued growth in every aspect of life.
